ISH - Short for "I'm So Helpful" is our number one helper around LEWF. She is always the first to greet new patients, a foster mom extraordinaire, and inspects our job. After going in and out of dog doors as a calf in 2001, it was determined that she would not be releasable into the wild. Since, she has helped raised many elk calfs who have since been released.
Autumn was found after being shot in the wing. Despite best attempts to help her heal and get her ready for release back into the wild, her injuries did not heal correctly.
Educational Turkey Vulture
Bat is non-releasable due blindness. He came in for rehab during his first year after being found on the ground during migration time. We are not sure how he became mostly blind but was determined there was nothing we could do. As he was still very young, it was determined he was suitable to become an educational bird.
